“Resurrection Reversed” is a 13-minute video work exploring the mutability between the present and memory. Rendered with a sense of heightened sharpness or optical blur, each sequence builds symbolism and metaphor from mundane objects and spaces. Waterscapes, shells, a chess board, clothesline, loom, incense, and altar draw origin from Chinese ornamentalism and Romanian folklore. As a recurring motif in the work, the shift through elemental forces conveys plurality and vulnerability within the relationship between emotion and cognition.
